Political Consulting
“Leveraging years of political experience and relationships that payoff for clients today…”
Brecht Heuchan has been integrally involved in different roles and capacities of campaigns at all levels of Florida’s government, including his own candidacy for the state senate in 2000. Over the last 16 years, Brecht served a Speaker of the House, several Presidents of the Senate, Majority Leaders, Minority Leaders and hundreds of candidates around the state.
Brecht began his career in politics in 1992 as in intern for what was then called the House Republican Campaign Committee. The HRCC was later integrated with the Republican Party of Florida and through the 1994 and 1996 campaign cycles, Brecht served as the Director of Fundraising for the RPOF’s House Majority effort, coordinating all hard and soft money fundraising programs.
In 1996 Floridians elected more Republicans than Democrats to the Florida House and for the first time since Florida’s reconstruction 122 years prior, a Republican was elected Speaker of the House. Representative Daniel Webster from Orlando was elected Speaker for the 1997 and 1998 years. Speaker Webster appointed Brecht to serve in his administration advising him and Majority Leader Jim King on issues of policy and politics.
In 1999, Brecht returned to the Republican Party of Florida to head up the Senate Majority effort under the leadership of both Senate President Toni Jennings and Senate President John McKay. In that role, he managed all campaign operations of the Senate Republican effort, oversaw a record setting $6 million fundraising budget and orchestrated and implemented a statewide campaign plan that elected a Republican Majority in the Florida Senate which remains today.
Brecht founded Capital Research Company, LLC in 2004. The company provides its clients with political and campaign consulting services including strategic advice, message development, opposition research and general campaign and public affairs management. Brecht’s experience in these areas, coupled with his lobbying and government affairs work, brings both advocacy and political clients a unique set of characteristics and perspective, often leveraging the expertise and relationships garnered in each capacity to help clients achieve objectives and realize positive outcomes to the continued challenges they face.
