About Brecht

Brecht Heuchan is the President of The Labrador Company, Inc., a political and government affairs firm which represents businesses and organizations before the Florida Legislature and State agencies in several areas including, energy, education, healthcare, regulated industries, professional sports, affordable housing and elder care.

heuchan-photoPreviously, Heuchan served as Managing Partner of a large advocacy firm, a partnership between Mr. Heuchan and a respected Miami-based law firm. During his time as managing partner, Mr. Heuchan not only headed up the lobbying practice of the firm, managing day to day operations, he also handled a full compliment of clients, successfully representing them before Florida’s governmental entities.

From 2001 through 2004, Mr. Heuchan served as President and Founder of a political and governmental consulting firm, serving some of the most recognized and respected companies in the world, from Fortune 100 publicly traded industry leaders to small non-profit organizations.

In 1999, Mr. Heuchan was appointed the Director of Senate Campaigns for the Republican Party of Florida by then Senate President Toni Jennings and continued in that role, serving her successor Senate President John McKay. Mr. Heuchan managed all campaign operations of the Senate Republican effort, oversaw a record setting $6 million fundraising budget and orchestrated and implemented a statewide campaign plan that elected a Republican Majority in the Florida Senate.

Prior roles include, two years directly serving Speaker Daniel Webster and House Majority Leader Jim King as a Legislative analyst, advising the Speaker and Leader on issues of policy and politics, handling special projects, communications and negotiations with industry groups, the Florida Senate, agency secretaries and the Governor’s office.

Mr. Heuchan received a B.S. degree from Florida State University in 1993 and lives in Tallahassee with his wife and three children.
